While Collin is in Lake Tahoe for his brother’s bachelor party…I’ve been very busy. I’ve painted most of the white trim in the house (I’m finishing tomorrow) and I’ve created a gallery wall. You can’t really tell from the pictures but each of the pictures on the wall is a sepia toned tree picture of some sort. I have some of spanish moss and willows. What do you think? P.S. I know they’re a little crooked. I need to get the level out.

We painted the downstairs “warm caramel” and painted behind the bookshelves “walnut bark.” I LOVE how the colors turned out. We also added the valances on the windows. Of course while I went upstairs to get the camera, a sneaky little puppy found herself a napping place on the couch.

On January 18th, I will be flying here:

Two days later I’ll be heading here via train:

Two days later:

I’ll be home January 25th.
My friend Tana and I have been planning a trip for two years now. We studied abroad in Costa Rica together and were originally planning to return. Last week I found an awesome deal to Italy, fast forward to yesterday and we booked it!! We’ll be spending two days each in Venice, Florence and Rome. I’m so excited! We’re going by ourselves without a travel guide so if you’ve been and have things that we MUST see, let me know!

I’ve been saying that I need a haircut for months now. With a coupon close to expiring I finally used my birthday gift certificate for a haircut and massage. The results were a well-relaxed girl and a new do. I never take good self portraits so ignore the extreme closeup/awkward look.
Before:

This was taken at a friend’s wedding two weekends ago.
After:

Obviously this was my attempt at doing my hair like Gabi did it. It wasn’t a complete failure but her version was much more sleek. Maybe next time I’ll use the straightener too. My hair looks like a completely different color. Amazing what a cut can do!

I listen to Mike and Mike every morning when I’m getting ready for work and on my drive to work. I love the random sports knowledge and trivia you can pick up from them. And as I’m getting older…I find that I like talk radio more. I’m officially a sports nerd.
When I found out that Mike and Mike were going to be broadcasting live in downtown St. Louis… I was super excited! My brother told me that it wasn’t that crowded when he was watching it online so yesterday I got up super early to get ready. I drove to work realllllly early, hopped on the metro and took to to the stadium. I walked a few blocks over to Kiener Plaza and there they were! There were only 50 ppl or so sitting on the steps watching the live broadcast.
They passed out all sorts of ESPN radio goodies during the breaks. I got a water bottle, t-shirt, key chain, and flashlight. I also got autographs from both Mikes and Tim Kurkjian. When I was handing my sharpie to Tim, I accidently wrote on him…. Ooops! Sorry Timmy!

We had tickets to go to today’s All-Star Celebrity Softball game at Busch Stadium. On the roster: Chingy, Nelly, Jenna Fisher (from The Office), Billy Bob Thornton, Mike and Mike, Jon Hamm (from Mad Men) and James Denton (from Desperate Housewives). Before the softball game, they play a futures game with the good minor league players. That was supposed to start at 1 following with the celeb game at 4. Too bad mother nature had other plans:

Purina building with cute ad. Looking bleak in the sky.

Torrential downpour complete with Forest Gump sideways rain. We had seats that were covered so we stuck out the rain delay for a good 2.5 hours. After that, we realized that we had a lot of stuff to do at home. Collin’s going to be in Philadelphia all week for work and needed to finish packing. We were tired from the 6:00 am wakeup call for the 5k and the couch sounded better. We made a good decision. It’s 7:30 and the celebrity softball game just started. I’m really sad I missed it though. I wanted to see Mike and Mike!

Grandma’s china displayed in the dining room

New napkins that go with the new rug. Flowers from the front yard.

Bookshelves decorated in the living room.

Furniture arranged with new rug and new coffee table. Lola looking possessed.

Sunroom decorated.
We still have a few blank walls that need artwork or a mirror or something… I’ve picked out paint colors for the living room but that’ll be coming later. Definitely a work in progress.
