21 Weeks- Otherwise known as the week I “popped.”

Your Baby: Week 21

Baby gulps down several ounces of amniotic fluid every day, both for hydration and nutrition and to practice swallowing and digesting. And, these days, those taste buds actually work! Studies show that after birth, babies are most interested in tastes they’ve already experienced through amniotic fluid. Meaning, think about what you want your future child to eat as you prepare your own lunch.

This week my belly finally started to stick out. People at work really said..hey, you might actually be pregnant. It’s nice for the belly to start to match the number on the scale.

We had another ultrasound this week with my new doctor. He said baby looked perfect! We’re looking forward to another healthy 19 weeks. In the mean time, work has begun on the nursery. We have bedding and have some paint samples up on the wall. Hopefully, we’ll be able to make a decision and start priming the walls.

I’m excited that next weekend we’ll see my family. My “little” sister Karen is graduating from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale with a degree in Athletic Training. She just recently passed her certification test. She was one of only two in her class that passed. Go Karen! I’m so proud 🙂
