First: A before picture of when baby girl’s nursery was an office:
We didn’t change the paint color from when we bought it. We just happened to have this rug that looked pretty good in there.
Flash forward a year or so and my how things have changed:
The walls are a delicious shade of green called “Belle Grove Sorbet.” Collin worked really hard on getting the walls primed and painted this weekend. I wasn’t 100% sure of the paint color before it went up but now I love it 🙂 The crib was a STEAL on Amazon ($99)! It had the clean, modern look I was going for.
This mobile was painstakingly handcrafted by Collin and I. The inspiration was this mobile. I think it turned out great! We’ll have to raise/move it once baby is active but for now it definitely gives the room a pop of color.
The bedding is ironically called, “Hannah” by Nautica. Also a bargain online. Here you can see the bedskirt. I know they need ironed/washed but I wanted to see them out of the bag!
Here you can see the sheets and comforter.
Collin found this chair/ottoman on Craiglist. One trip over to Edwardsville and it was ours. Another great deal at $150 for both. You can’t tell from this picture but there is a slight green gingham pattern to it.
I hated the ceiling fan/light fixture combo that was in the room before. Now, we have a little touch of girliness in the light fixture. This was a PITA for Collin to hang but it looks great in the room.
Here you can see the closet. We took the door off. You can’t tell from this picture but the entrance to the room is directly to the left of the closet. You couldn’t have both doors open at once or they would smack into each other.
Collin and his mom took this dresser from his closet at home, sanded and painted it to the cute state it’s in now. The drawer knobs are the same shade as the walls.
We bought these “O’s” from Hobby Lobby for our clothes organizers. Collin painted one side the color of the walls and I glued paper and numbers to the front. (0-3, 3-6, 6-9 and 9-12). We can change out the numbers/paper once she grows out of these sizes.
Thanks to the grandmas and a few trips to the sale racks by us…we have the beginnings of a really cute wardrobe!
We still have quite a bit of work to do to finish. We need curtains, a rug, a dresser/changing area and decorations. We’ve done quite a bit in the short amount of time we’ve known she’s a she 🙂 and can’t wait to get the room all put together.
We can’t wait to meet our little girl! 18 weeks!!
