What’s New?

So I’ve been totally MIA lately. Here’s a random list of what I’ve been up to:

1. We have new living room furniture. We ended up not keeping the ottoman because it was too big. We have a new rug in there but I don’t have a pic of that yet.

2. New rug in the dining room. Displayed china on the shelves.

3. Collin’s new best friend

4. New patio furniture!! (LOVE IT)

6. I signed up for the Lewis and Clark half marathon in St. Charles. It’s September 13th. I think it’ll be good practice for the marathon.

7. New running shoes!!!

I just got my last pair about six months ago but I know it’s good to rotate your shoes when you’re training long distances. Plus, these are super comfy. I also got some nutritional supplements to try out on the longer runs. I’ve never used them and I’m curious to see what they’re like and if I can actually tell a difference.

8. My Aunt Lori and I are planning a trip to see my dad in Maryland. We’re looking at late August. I’m so excited. I didn’t think I’d get to take a vacation since we bought the house. It’s perfect timing too because I’m starting to get burnt out on work.  Mostly the work drama. It’s hard to avoid.

9. New favorite show:

I’m a little late to jump on the bandwagon but I started watching episodes on Hulu last month and I love it! I have the second season on Netflix now.

10. Only 96 more days until the Chicago marathon! EEEEEEEKKKKKK!

Work in Progress

I apologize for the lack of anything on this blog lately. We had some drama last week with our house closing and now that we’re in the new house, there’s no internet. I did however, take some pics last night to show you the work in progress. Without further ado…..

Friday Jana came down to help me paint the master bedroom. It was a sage-like color but we painted it Martha Stewart “Cake Stand Blue.”

The office- pretty much put together

Upstairs bathroom- I had to stand in the bathtub to try to get a decent pic.

Dining Room- forgot to put the flash on for this. The table suffered an accident in the move but she’s all back together now. We’ll probably get a rug for this room.

Living room- we’re getting a new leather couch/chair for this room. They’ll be delivered on Friday. I’ll update afterwards.

Guest bedroom- all set for guests!

Future Trip

June 26th I will be flying to Chicago to visit my brother et. al. I feel like a baller since it’s only a five hour drive and I’m choosing to fly. Gotta love cheap flights. I’m uber excited because during my trip, we’re driving to Wisconsin to see a Brewers game!

For those of you don’t know my life list or 30 before 30 list, check them out. I’ll be able to cross 2 things off the list on this trip.

1. Wisconsin- Never been there. Adding it to my goal of visiting all 50 states.

2. Brewers game- Since I’ve never been to Wisconsin, I’ve never been to a Brewers game. Adding it to my list of MLB ballparks.

I will of course also get to hang out with my super cute niece. It’ll be a great weekend.

Congratulations Em-Diddy!

One of my best friends, affectionately known as Em-Diddy (Emily) recently got engaged to her boyfriend of five years, Matt. Emily was a bridesmaid in my wedding (almost two years ago) and I can’t wait to do the same for her.

Emily and I met when I was her RA at SIUC. I tried to set her up with my brother right before she started seeing Matt (oops!). We grew as friends through my law school years and while she was getting her masters in accounting. We survived living with a horrible (!) room mate and the room mate’s snake.  We both moved to St. Louis and now have dinner parties and girly get togethers. I cherish her friendship and look forward to planning her special day. LOVE YOU EMILY!

Running Stats

I’ve added a page at the top of the screen to show off my running stats. Right now, they’re pretty pathetic but as the weeks continue, I hope to be kicking ass and taking names.

1. We saw Billy Joel and Elton John in concert last week. BEST.CONCERT.EVER. It was way better than I even expected.

2. Last weekend we were in Chicago to visit the family. We had a great time but it was over too fast.

3. This weekend we’re going to split with visits to Collin’s grandpa’s house and my grandma’s house. It’ll be a lot of travel but should be fun.

4. We finally have a closing date (June 17)!

5. I’ve become obsessed with finding the perfect bedding…it’s not going well.

6. All of the new shows are ending…. my netflix viewing will definitely be increasing.

7. I check the St. Louis Boxer Rescue page almost daily… it makes me so sad I wanna take them home.

New Addiction

Hello, my name is Hanna and I’m an addict. My addiction…. sporcle.  Sporcle is a website with TONS of trivia games ranging from history to sports to entertainment. I’ve spent hours on this site, both at work and at home. I highly recommend it for those days at the office that just won’t end and to pass the hours at home. It’s also a great way for you trivia buffs (Dad) to practice up. Don’t say I didn’t warn you though….it’s addicting.
